The Name of G_d

According to Jewish practice some of the Names of God are to sacred to be pronounced aloud unless we profane. The Bible says in Exodus Chapter 20 verse 7

7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

The name Elohim should only be pronounced as such when reading from the Bible. If one uses the name outside of this context then it should be pronounced Elokhim.

One of the names we use for God in Hebrew is Ha Shem, which basically means, "the Name." Though the name Elohim is one of the most commonly used forms used it is though to be and honorary plural form of the word El or Elh which means, "a god."

May this be a blessing to someone today.
